Jamie Gibbs, the “JG” in JG Carpentry, picked up his first hammer in high school, working beside his dad and grandfather. Three generations of carpentry taught him to build things square, plumb and meant to last.
He first came to Spearfish to play college basketball at Black Hills State University. After college he returned to Minneapolis, where he built his career remodeling and building homes. In 2014 he moved back to Spearfish for good and brought that experience home to the Black Hills.
Today, with more than 30 years in the trade, Jamie is still on site and on the tools for every JG Carpentry project.

How far in advance should I book a remodel? Plan to call at least two to six months ahead for larger projects. Spring and summer fill first, so fall and winter are good times to finish design and get on the schedule.
